Biromantic

Pronunciation:

[birōˈman(t)ik]

Definition

A biromantic person is someone who enjoys the companionship behavior typically associated with being in a relationship and being in love but does not enjoy the subsequent sexual experiences and commitment related to being in a relationship. These behaviors can include; cuddling, gift-giving, going on dates and holding hands.

A biromantic individual can be heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual or asexual. They only desire a physical connection with a counterpart and not the other actions that would occur in a relationship.

Example

Caitlin and Susan decided to go out for a meal together. They exchanged small gifts and afterwards they went back to Caitlin’s and cuddled on the sofa while watching the Notebook.
