Neutrois

Pronunciation:

[ˈn(y)o͞otrwahl]

Definition

A type of gender identity, neutrois refers to someone who is gender neutral.

Someone who is neutrois will have assigned themselves a ‘neutral’ gender, they are neither male nor female, but they still have a gender. Neutrois is different from a gender-less or agender individual because they are both typically associated with having no gender.

Neutrois was derived from the word neutral, it is a relatively new term used predominantly in polyamorous circles.

Example

Sally didn’t conform to the standard gender binary. She preferred to be identified by the term neutrois.
